Adoption Feedback

Babushka

Good Day

I have to say we are extremely impressed with your establishment and our new most awesome dog. She is still a little skittish around strangers and strange dogs but every day she calms a little more and stands her ground more and more. She is a pure delight with the kids and gets along so well with our male. By the way I think you got her breed all wrong. I think she is a GSD / Collie mix not Husky. She behaves way to well to have Husky in her she is also super intelligent and as the attached photos show quite a clown.

Thank you for making her addition to our pack possible.

Perla

Dear Wetnose Staff

Thank you to everyone at wetnose who helped my family and I adopt Perla. She is a very fast learner and has quickly adapted to her new surroundings. She spends most of her time running around the garden, chasing balls and chewing on her chew toy ( which she takes with her everywhere she goes). I have attached a photo’s of her.

I must just add that Perla is the madam of the house she loves talking to us if we  don’t  reply she throws her toys out of the cot, but she’s my little bundle of joy she’s now 10 weeks old.

Progress report – Bev

Dear Wetnose Staff

Thank you to everyone at wetnose who helped my family and I adopt Bev. She is a very fast learner and has quickly adapted to her new surroundings. She spends most of her time running around the garden, chasing balls and chewing on her chew toy ( which she takes with her everywhere she goes). I have attached a photo of her with her toy in her very favourite bush which is now much flatter than it was before :-)

 All the best

Nadine and all the rest of the Shaw family.

It has been a year!

Thelma and Louise came to live with us a year ago already! I can’t believe how time has flown!

Happy adoptiversary my sweet clever puppies!

They still have no idea how to play, or what to do with doggy toys, but they chase each other round the garden – and Louise gets so excited when we go into the garden that she woofs and dances! Thelma is the smarter of the two, and the most obedient. :) Louise is the excitable one and will do just about anything to go for a walk!

They were at the vet recently for their annual shots, and both very obediently got up onto the scale when prompted- Thelma weighing in at 11.7kg and Louise is 13.2kg. They were very nervous at the vet’s office of course, and they were shaking nervously when I lifted them onto the table for a check up and their injections- but once they were on the floor again they were quite happy.

Thelma still doesn’t like the car. She’ll get in no problem for one trip- like the trip to the vet- but the going home trip she took a lot of coaxing to get into the car again. Louise has no problem and will happily run and jump in the car at every opportunity!

They are such sweethearts, and now its getting really cold at night they sleep inside on their own cushions in the corner. They don’t wonder the house and they don’t pick on the cats!

Misha goes home with her pretty new owner

This little girl has just adopted her first dog, and judging from the smile on her face, Misha has found a wonderful new friend.

Misha we were told, will sleep warmly tonight on a thick comfy sheepskin blanket in her new owner’s bedroom. This small dog has certainly found a wonderful new home.

The next few weeks will be an exciting time for them both, getting to know each other, playing together and talking with one another.

Misha, we wish you all the best, may your new owner care for you with love for many years to come.

Chief Dan George wrote these wise words -

“If you talk to the animals they will talk with you
and you will know each other.
If you do not talk to them you will not know them,
and what you do not know you will fear.
What one fears, one destroys. ”

Dante

Hi

Dante doing well and all settled in with minimal fuss :) he has loads of

Thank you

Rasta (now Kucho) and Shaggy (now Yogi)

Hi there.

Here are some pictures of my babies that i adopted from you about 2 years ago. i have no idea how to post them the adopon feedback on your website. This is rasta “now kucho”, who was supposed to be a mexican hairless chiuawa, but when he grew about 20 times bigger than a chiuawa i did some research, and it turns out he is a inca orchid peruvian hairless. Very rare, special breed. He is a total nutcase, loads of energy, and he can never get enough love and attention. Then there is shaggy “now yogi”, he is my german shephard, great dane cross. The softest, most gentle animal i have ever come across and highly intellegent,he is by far my most well trained dog,he loves to please. They are gorgeous, and they bring a great deal of happiness and joy into my life.

Thanx a mil. You people do a great job!

Lindsay

Angelo (now Jello)

Hi

So sorry for the late response, finally found the camera cable for the laptop and have some photos of Jello for you. We actually walk him off the leash now, the first time we did it, he just bolted and kept running and after running faaaaaaaaaaaar ahead of us, he turned around and realised we weren’t there and came back and after that when he walked off the leash, he’d run ahead, turn around and wait for us and then when we caught up, he’d carry on.

And when he doesn’t get any attention from us he’ll walk away in slow motion from us and keep turning around every few steps to check if we’ve noticed that he’s going and if we even look in his direction or start laughing he runs back and jumps onto us. He is just too cute and always happy and full of love.

I’ve attached some pictures but some of them are too big for me to send in this email but I will send them in the emails following this one.

Take care :)

Bennie en Bernice (nou Milo en Sandy)

Goeie dag

Hallo

Net so paar fotos van my 2 engeltjies met swart vlerkies.

Flora (now Roxy)

Good day,

I adopted Flora, and I love her.  We decided to change her name to Roxy.

She is so sweet and adorable.

 Thank you so much.

Blackie and Spottie

Blackie and Spottie adopted from Wetnose.

Lovely dogs ..

Jethro (now Nyani)

Dear Wetnose-people,

As promised, we herewith send you some pictures of Jethro. He is doing fine. We did rename him Nyani. Every now and then his face looks like a baby hyena. And Nyani is Swahili for hyena… ;-)

Jethro / Nyani is a lovely little puppy. He’s with us for a week now and a small bundle of joy. Loves to play with us and the other dogs Jazz and Pebbles.

He’s outdoors most of the day. You will find him somewhere in our garden, most probably playing or sleeping or bossing around the Great Dane.

They are best friends already.

During night time all dogs sleep in our bedroom. And during a night Nyani will wake me up 2 or 3 times to go out. He tries to be a good dog and behaves quite well. We have started ‘training’ him so accidents in the house do not occur any more. He knows how to sit for a treat and loves all kinds of (game) meat over official puppy food!

We have already dewormed Nyani. Next week he will get one of his shots and in July we will have him neutered.

Thank you for your assistance and keep up the good work!

Kind regards,

Verity (now Chloe)

Good morning!!

We adopted Verity (Chloe) in April 2011 from Wetnose. We brought our Husky (Monty) along for the “meet and greet” and these two just loved each other from the word go! I was very nervous to take her home as I thought she would run out the gate the first chance she gets….boy, was I wrong!!

She is the most amazing dog ever! She is so clever and she doesn’t run out  when the gate opens, in fact, she goes to the garage door and waits for us to drive in or out the gate AND she doesn’t run in front of the car when we drive in! Monty adores her and she just loves him!

Attached are two pictures, Pic one was after bath brush and second pic playtime  will try and send more sometime as the email size limit is exceeded with these two.

We would just like to thank everyone at Wetnose for everything you do and for our wonderful little girl – she really is a very special dog .

Tiger (now Zergie)

Good morning,

‘Tiger’ (now Zergie) was a very happy kitten until Saturday (23 April) when we arrived with Tiffy (now name Kiki)..

We went to Wetnose on Saturday and fell in love with ‘Tiffy’, what a beautiful loving cat – she is now 7 months old.  She is actually a lot smaller than Zergie which makes it purrfect J

Zergie growled at her the whole of Saturday.  By Sunday night they were chasing each other around and yesterday they lay atop each other and slept – this was very cute and surprising to me!

Zergie loves to sleep between the two of us and to wake us at 2 or 3 in the morning to play..

He is really cute and everybody wants to take him!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Jessie

Jeff gets a new home and playmates

Jeff, a staffie crossbreed, was adopted by a family who’d come to Wet Nose to search for a companion for their Beagle puppy.  Jeff and the pup played together in one of the exercise runs. They got on famously and will soon become the best of friends.

Jeff is an obedient dog, quick to learn and eager to please. He was used as a socialising dog at Wet Nose, helping newcomers settle in and gain confidence. Jeff, you have done well for Wet Nose, and we wish you much happiness and lots of good walks, go well and have fun with your new family because as Henry Beecher said, “The dog was created specially for children. He is the god of frolic.”

Venetia (now Cassie)

Hello Fiona & Wetnose staff,

We adopted Venetia – now Cassie on the 13th February, 2011, but only fetched her on the 25th February, 2011 as we were away on holiday. She has settled in very well with us including our fur family, as can be seen in the pics attached. “Oh by the way Fiona, just want to tell you that I have my own double bed to sleep on every night, are’nt I one lucky girl.” “Oh, and Abby did not want to know me for the first 2 weeks, but after that she decided that I was here to stay and now is quite happy with me being here.”"My friends are Rusty (labrador) and Zack (dachshund).”  She is just so loving and an absolute joy to have. When she first arrived she did not know the sit command, but now is sitting beautifully when told to do so. She is a fast learner. Our lives are blessed yet once again with another beautiful soul.

Many blessings to you all and keep up the great work you are all doing.

God bless Carol & Freddie Williams

Brewster (now Alfie)

Hi to all at Wetnose

Just want to send an update on Brewster (now named Alfie). We adopted Alfie on the 05/02/11.

He is doing very well in his new home, he is a very friendly boy and he is very good with my 11 month old daughter. He has a lovely warm soft bed which is next to my bed, but he prefers to sleep on the floor next to it instead of snuggled up inside it! He is very playfull and enjoys his afternoon walks. I have attached a recent photo of him.

Kind Regards

Chantel Friedrichs

Landa (now Sandals)

Hi Wetnose

Here is a few pictures of “Landa” which we adopted in February.

Because of the bit of a clubfoot she had when we adobted her she got renamed “SANDALS”.

I am glad to say combined with all the exercise she got from running around playing with our other dogs she outgrew it.

It had completely recovered and there is no sign of her ever having had a bit of a crooked walk.

She is such a loveable dog. Thank you so much for looking after her until she found her new home with us.

Have an exceptional day.

God’s blessings on your work.

Flavian (now Kingston)

Hallo Wetnose!!

Just a few pictures of Flavian (now called Kingston) and his new home and family….

He is such a joy, so obedient already and so loveable to all of us.

My two schnauzers get on with him so well and he is overall very very happy and healthy.

My son also loves him to bits and Kingston loves following him all around the house.

Will send you more pictures soon…..

Best Regards,

Daleen Bohlmann

Klokkies (now Weego)

Hi Wetnose !

We adopted Weego (previously Klokkies) from you during December last year.

She is the most sweetest little girl. At first, she was very scared of us and wouldn’t leave her bed. However, she has gradually begun to trust us and it is in only in the most recent month that she has completed come out of her shell. She is so intelligent and learns so quickly!

Weego loves walks and playing with her ball. She follows us around everywhere and is always so excited when we come home from work.

We are absolutely blessed to have this gorgeous little girl in our lives, and we are so grateful to you. She is our everything, and has changed our lifestyles completely.

Thank you so much Wetnose!
