Adoption Feedback

Verna

Hi All

Verna says “Hi all you lovies” from Mossel Bay.  Introductions was done last night and went very well…… Jurg says looks like she took a special liking in her new 3 legged little friend.  She was even relaxed enough to eat before bedtime. Everyone was so chuffed with her….. thanks again to all of you and the work you do to make it possible for little angels like this to have a second chance in life.  If not for you who knows where she and many others like her would be today.  I’ll share photo’s as and when I receive them, don’t know about you guys but I still have not said goodbuy to her completely….. need to see a bit more of her in her new life.

Have a lekker day!! Hugs to all the furry friends xxxx

Dillon and Jake

Good day!

Please find attached a few pics of Dillon and Jake at home. They’re both sweethearts and very well behaved and they’re already quite protective over us. Over Christmas my mother in law brought her young yorkie with, and Jake and Dillon enjoyed her very much. From the first minute they played together, no aggresion towards her or anything of that sort, the little one had them running around, pulling rope with Jake and rolling around with Dillon who very much enjoyed having someone smaller than him – he liked being the “big dog”. Jake especially loves his chew toys, hooves with some peanut butter in and pulling rope or playing catch with a ball. Dillon is more quiet but very attentive and have a few favourite spots to nap and especially like snuggling in on someone’s lap. They also love each others company and keep each other busy, whether it’s softly biting at each other playfully or curling up next to each other on a blanket.

We very much love and enjoy these two and they’re bringing lots of  joy to our home.

Kind regards
Christina

Gabby

Good day

This is just an update:
We adopted Gabby in August this year from your centre, she is really such a
loving dog, has a very cute but lovely personality along with being
extremely naughty but so cute we can’t discipline her even after the
hundreds of things she has destroyed.
I am attaching some photos of her just so you can see how well she has
settled in!

Thanks for the great job that you there at wetnose do!

Wishing you a super 2012!

Kind Regards

Season’s greetings from Spooky

Dear Wetnose staff,

Spooky sends Season’s greetings from the country of Santa Claus! We hope you
are having a good Christmas time.

We adopted Spooky from Wetnose in July 2005. She moved with us first to New York, and then to Finland, where we currently live. And as you may know,
Santa Claus lives in Finland :)

Spooky is a fantastic dog and the best thing that ever happened to us. We
are forever grateful to everyone at Wetnose for rescuing her!

Happy new year and all the best for 2012!

Natalia, Fred and Spooky

Gloria

Hi all at Wetnose,

This is Gloria making herself very much at home.  She is beautiful and already everyone loves her.  Thank you so much for finding me a friend, companion & protector – she is everything.  We are going off to town now – she will get to ride in front with me where she can see what is going on.  She is very curious and the cat that used to roam the high wall at the back seems to have moved on to greener pastures.

I would also like to compliment you and your team of helpers & volunteers on an immacualte farm – I was totally taken by surprise it was like visiting a garden park.

Take care – hope you like the photo – this blanket came all the way fromMexico and is hand made – well at least it is being used now.

Merry Christmas and a happy & prosperous New Year.  Keep up the increadible work you are doing.

Molly

Dear Michelle

Just reporting back to HQ on Molly ! At last I have a photo to send you of Eve & Molly taken at The Celtic Breeds Club Christmas Charity Show.

All I can say is what a FANTASTIC dog, we love her sooooooooo much. She has her own pillow on my bed which she shovels up into the right shape for her comfort, she sleeps with Eve the first half of the night & mine the last half!! She bosses my Great Dane Nero about (he won’t pass her in the corridor) which I find AMAZING!!

If we tell her off she complains verbally & makes us feel terrible! She keeps trying to sneak into my car every morning!! She hates us leaving her ,so we feel even MORE guilty for leaving her . . . . .

The other day she snuck in front of the car out ON the pavement ,rolled over with all her feet in the air and refused to move!!! She just plonk’s herself & that is it!!

THANK YOU FOR LETTING US HAVE MOLLY!!!!!!

Regards

Amanda (now Gaby)

Dearest Cheryl and Michelle

It has almost been 4 weeks since I adopted Amanda, now Gaby. Just thought I would let you know that she is doing just great and has become the love of my life. She has many toys she plays with but her favourite is her two stuffed animal toys, Ollie and Jerry.

She has been eating very well and had her injections. On weekends she goes to play with a friends’ 3 dogs and comes home exhausted from all the excitement and playing. The is still not completely “potty trained” and has little oopses, but all is forgiven very quickly.

I attach a few pictures of her.

Thank you for taking care of her until she found her real home.

Many blessings

Yvette

Celine (now Blommie)

Goeie middag

 Groete

Michele, Marinda en Blommie

Tamlyn

Hi All

We really are so happy. She’s slotted in so wonderfully and has taken to MJ and vice versa. She follows her everywhere. Haha at times it’s gets a bit schitzophrenic and she tries to follow us all.

MJ’s teaching her as well. We’ve taught MJ to sit before we give her food or treats and Tammy’s sitting as well already!!!

We got some toys for them and they are playing tug of war constantly.

I hope all is well there and that ALL the special ones you house find happy homes soon.

I’ve been posting on FB as well.

Gaby (now Tully)

Dear Wet Nose team,

We just wanted to write to update you on Gaby (now “Tully”) who we adopted from you on May 14.  We had her spayed in July as our vet thought her to be a little bit older than originally estimated.  We think she is now about 11 months old, and she has brought so much joy to our lives.  She’s graduated from puppy classes, and we continue to work on her training.  We’ve discovered that she’s a very adept and graceful swimmer, so she is spending plenty of time in the pool to drain some of her extra energy in addition to taking two walks a day and socialising with other dogs at Emmerentia Dam.

She’s a lovely, happy dog with a fantastic temperament.  She’s become great friends with our 1 year old nephew, and we feel so lucky to have her.

Thank you so much for introducing us and for taking wonderful care of her before we came to take her home.

We have recommended Wet Nose to all of our friends who are looking to adopt an animal and are very appreciative of the work you do.

Kind regards,

Katie and Marcel du Toit

Kyra

Hello to all at Wetnose

Just wanted to give you a quick update on Kyra, our little jack russell cross pup that we adopted three weeks ago.

On joining our household, our other dog, Dobbie, did not take long to warm up to Kyra. Needless to say, they do everything together and are never far apart. They play with each other and their toys nearly all the time and can be quite boisterous when they are together. They get into all kinds of mischief together. Even though she is so small, Kyra has a very big attitude and lots of spunk. We never expected such a tiny dog to be as busy as she is.

Kyra has transitioned into our lives very easily and it is hard to imagine life without her. She keeps us very entertained with all her cute antics and we love her to bits. She is very healthy and eats like a horse! She is very bright and already knows how to sit before she gets fed and she is learning how to walk on her lead. Both dogs are going to the vet on Saturday for their injections – should be fun trying to transport our two wriggly worms in the car! :-)

I’ve attached some photo’s of her – she is very difficult to photograph because she won’t stay still for long enough!

She is enjoying the company of her new found friend, Dobbie, and the attention of her two doting parents and we love having her as part of our family.

Thanks for letting us adopt her, she has a great life ahead of her. We’ll send you some more pictures soon so that you can see how she’s getting along and what she looks like when she gets a bit bigger.

Kind Regards

Melody

Hi Veronica,

I just wanted to give everyone an update on a little old lady that I adopted from Wetnose on 10 January 2007, called Melody.

Melody was originally adopted to be a companion for my spaniel, but Peanut had a different idea and turned out to be very disinterested in making friends with another dog as she far prefers the company of humans.  As such, three and a half years ago I went on the search for a companion for Melody, having given up on any hope that my two dogs would ever becoming bosom buddies.  It didn’t take long to find Bandit, an adorable little daschund puppy looking for a home, and the two have been the best of friends ever since.

Over the last 5 years Melody has been the most wonderful addition to my family.  She has the most calm and loving nature and as such has wormed her way into the hearts of many.  She has been dressed up in dolls clothes, carried around the garden and pinched by little babies learning how to use their fingers, all without a hint frustration.  She also continues to be a devoted friend and ‘mother’ figure to Bandit and the fuzziest, cuddliest lapdog as she curls up on my lap every evening with Bandit right by her side.  I have never had a rescue dog before, but if the gratitude the Melody shows on a daily basis is anything to go by I will only consider rescue dogs in the future.

Keep up the good work.

Kind regards,

Larry (now Seun)

 hallo almal daar by wetnose

net om julle te wys hoe goed dit gaan met onse larry, ek noem hom ook seun of ou grote en hy reageer al van 2e dag af op seun!  Hy het baie vinnig aangepas, asof hy al jare hier by my is.

Adam and Lady

Good morning Wetnose,

Attached please find some pictures of Lady and Adam.  Adopting these to little angels was an absolute pleasure and a very enjoyable experience.

Adam and Lady are living with us for 1 week now and are starting to settle in well.  It took about 2 hours for them to became best friends. Both of them doesn’t really give any attention to anything else when we are around, they just want to be held and adore the newly acquired attention.

They are spoilt from day 1 and they love it.

Adam is very afraid of any noise, but he is rapidly improving. After a week, he is much more curious and doesn’t run for corners anymore.

Both of them are very well behaved and have adorable little characters. We love having them around.

Whitie at home!

Hi

All the dogs were fine with him and he slept in the spare room(just in case)– he really wasn’t interested when I wanted him to go out this morning he was much too comfortable. When he went out there was little reaction from the other dogs it ws as if he had been there for years.

He is very well behaved and showed no signs of food aggression.

Kim

Grace (now Nandi)

Dear Cheryl,

Attached is the photo of Nandi in front of the heater in the lounge.

When Nandi goes to bed at nite .. she goes to bed .. nothing (except food – a treat) will tempt her to come back out again.   In the mornings, it takes her at least 5 minutes to finish stretching, then trots off to the kitchen – she’s adjusting well to the “good life”.   Despite all the toys we have for her and Oskar and spending plenty time running/playing with her in the garden. she has destroyed her bed cushion.   What a mess the bedroom was.   Her bed now lies on a rug and she has only a blanket, but she seems quite happy with this arrangement.   When we know that she won’t rip any more things to pieces, we’ll get her a new basket and cushion.   She also has to be shoo’ed off furniture on which she makes herself very comfortable.    A lovely thing she has started doing is, we get a “kiss” on the nose the past two evenings.   She is very playful and likes to bound around like a maniac, and is definitely beginning to settle down.   She also reacts beautifully to her new name.

Best regards

Annie

Hi Michelle,

Just another update on Annie.

She is the most perfect addition to the family! She only has two spots in the house which she occupies 23 hours of the day (i.e. the bed and the sofa). She does not leave the house (or her spot) unless she goes outside for a quick bathroom break or saunters over to the food bowl for a buffet meal. She adapted to the ‘schedule’, so occupies the sofa during the day and the bed at night, just to be close to the rest of the family.

Thank you again for the work you are doing every day to take care of our furry friends. I hope that all future families can find a perfect match like Annie.

Warmest regards,

Lizette

Tula (now Roxy)

Hi everybody at Wetnose

Just a few photos of Roxy (Tula).  She is such a beautiful natured little doggie, I just love her to bits, and she is so good.

She and my son have an instant love affair, if you ever saw one.  She latched on to him immediately and follows him around all the time.

When he closes his bedroom door, she sits by the door and cries.

I have to close my bedroom door at night because when she wakes up, she goes to Marius’s door and sits there crying.

She has eyes only for him when he is home. She is so lovable and loves to be loved.

Fritz runs a mile when she is close, she growls at him and she barks, she runs after him and bites him on his hind leg. She climbs up and down 2 steps by the back door by herself.

She is a very happy little doggie.  When I can’t see her, I call her and she comes to me immediately.  When she hears my son’s voice, she makes a b-line for him.

She doesn’t like the stitches any more, keep pulling them and biting them.

Thank you all for letting me have her, she will always be loved and protected and safe with me and my family.

She is too precious for words.

Have a great day and God bless you all for the sterling work you do.

Blessings

I just want to say thank you again for Kingsley. He is very clever and well behaved.

All the best and next month will see you guys as time for Kingsley to get fixed is near.

Cashew

Hi All

A few pictures of Cashew adopted from Wetnose.

Regards!

Tony (now Benjie)

Hi Fiona and all the wonderful people who looked after me during my stay at Wetnose, this is Benjie here (I was called Tony but my new mistress Penny liked Benjie better as it is more of a doggie name).

I thought I would just let you know how I am getting on.  In the beginning I felt a bit strange and could not eat too well and used to get a runny tummy, but I have settled in well.  I have attached a few photos so you can see how I am doing.  I have got out of the complex twice when the gardener was here but luckily was picked up by kind people who brought me home again.  The gardener has been told off very sternly!!  I do get a bit lonely during the day when Penny is at work but having a loving home makes it all worthwhile.  Penny loves me very very much and she loves to cuddle me which of course I revel in.

As you can see from the photos I do get out and about a bit in the car, but I do get a bit stressed and occasionally throw up in the car!!

The complex I live in has lots of dogs and when Penny takes me for a walk (which is often) and the dogs bark I bark and whine right back at them!  Everyone thinks I am very cute.  I am a very well behaved dog and was obviously well trained at my first home, it is just that I do like to be elevated so jump up on the furniture to get high up.  It is such fun.

Well I hope you are all well and I do miss you all and thank you again for looking after me.

Lots of love

Benjie Steele

Jasper and Sasha

Dearest Wetnose,

We adopted Jasper the Basset just over a month ago and he was not in such great condition after being attached by a wild pig and he was very thin. He is now doing wonderfully well and has picked up weight and all his wounds are healed.

Thank you for blessing our home with him and Sasha.

Jasper loves his best friend Sasha (Basset cross)  who we also adopted from you guys about 5 months ago. They play all day and night. Jasper and Sasha love coming to the farm where we work during the day and here they play with their friends Cobalt ( Husky ) and Spike ( Jack Russel). They roam the farm and play all day and are exhausted by the time we go home.

Jasper is  so full of life and energy, as playful as a puppy and talks all the time. He loves cuddles and loves sleeping on the couch. His favourite toy is the ropey and he loves playing fetch.  He still seems a bit weary of men but he is slowly coming around and I know with time he will be better.

Sasha is our cuddly bear and loves to laze in the sun and get attention from everybody. She has no fear and simply loves everybody and everything. The workers on the farm have even named her “Thandabuntu” which means lover of people.

I have attached some pictures of Jasper and Sasha and there are some before pictures of Jasper of when we first got him, the difference is remarkable.

Thank you once again for all your hard work.

Kindest regards

Bronwen

Juliet and Stitch (now Sasha and Bruce)

Dear All

Just a few pics of Sasha and Bruce. Sasha (“Juliet”), we adopted on Saturday.

The photos of both of them on the dog bed was taken on Sat night after they spend the entire afternoon playing. They did not stop for hours.

Both were stiff on Sunday, and not surprisingly they rested and slept most of the day.

Will send more photos when she has had a chance to settle in properly.

Thank you  !!

Kind regards

Janine & Ian

Bambi (now Lara)

Hi guys,

Just to thank you once again for the beautiful little girl we could adopt from you. She was “Bambi” when she left there but we changed her name to Lara. As Wet Nose is a bit of a distance for me to travel, I took her to our Vet,  who was kind enough to give her all the necessary inoculations at a very low rate because I adopted her from Wet Nose. I am taking her back soon to have her very last inoculation and to have her spayed. I am attaching some early as well as later photographs of her. As you can see she is a little spoilt. (Understatement!) Keep up the good work…

Regards,

John, Simon & Lara

Tripod (now Oscar)

Hi

My name is Oscar. You know me better as Tripod. I just thought I would let you all know how I’m doing in my new home.

Well, firstly, I’m happy to say that I found my “forever home”

I have two very nice sisters. Rusty, who is very old, sleeps a lot and Sox, she’s younger than me and is very playful.

When I was coming “home” for the first time, my humans found out that I get car sick. But that didn’t stop them putting me in the car two days later and taking me to the groomer. I got car sick again. Twice. I heard them saying that the next time I go in the car, they’ll bring a bucket.

I slept in the braai area for the first week and surprised my humans when they found me stretched out on the very comfy outside couch. They were told I couldn’t jump. Now they know I can.

Then one night last week, it started raining and the thunder was loud. I got “scared” and ran into one of the bedrooms and hid under a table. I think maybe that’s why I now sleep inside, right outside my humans bedrooms.

Every morning when my sisters and me wake up, we get biscuits. Sox has to do tricks to get hers but Rusty and I only have to sit. That’s all the two of us can do.

Every afternoon, the three of us go for a short, yet tiring walk. I get really excited when I hear the keys and see my leash. I have my humans well trained because when we get back from the walk, all I have to do is flop down and they’ll bring me my water.

Well, that’s all I have for now. I am happy and am really enjoying my new family.

Thank you for helping them adopt me.

 Oscar

Frances (now Bella)

Hi All Wetnose staff,

We adopted Frances (Now Bella) 5 months ago and she adapted very quickly to
her new environment.  She picked up some weight, the scar around her neck is
almost not visible anymore and she has grown into such a cheerful
personality! She still cannot get used to running around in the garden and
can’t seem to get enough of this freedom. Where she used to be timid and
nervous, she has changed into a bubbly, lively happy dog.  She love’s to
cuddle, and seems to go through a belated puppy stadium as she carries
anything that lies around, outside and chews on it.  I suppose she is
catching up on what she has been deprived of.  She is the perfect partner
for Bully(her “step brother”) and they are constantly playing – to such an
extend that he pulled a cross-ligiament already within the first week that
Bella joined our family!

Although the two of them tends to wreck the garden every other day, she is a
pure joy to us and I can’t imagine life without Bella.  She just has the
most grateful look in those two eyes that makes one forget any mischief
she’s been up to.

Thank you for making her part of our lives!

Mara

Babushka

Good Day

I have to say we are extremely impressed with your establishment and our new most awesome dog. She is still a little skittish around strangers and strange dogs but every day she calms a little more and stands her ground more and more. She is a pure delight with the kids and gets along so well with our male. By the way I think you got her breed all wrong. I think she is a GSD / Collie mix not Husky. She behaves way to well to have Husky in her she is also super intelligent and as the attached photos show quite a clown.

Thank you for making her addition to our pack possible.

Mr S.W.Dick
