When I first arrived at Wetnose I was a petrified little boy, I didn’t trust anyone and I didn’t understand when people tried to give me attention….I saw other cats all around me getting all exited when they saw our care taker, the kennel manager or volunteers and thought that they were nuts!
Veronica our kennel manager would visit all the cats and dogs every morning, greeting all of us and sometimes giving us treats, but everytime she would return to my cattery and sit there and talk to me. One morning she came in and I overheard that she said that I must be moved in with new strange cats because maybe I would relax and then people will see the real me (I really thought she was going crazy, moving me, new friends and on top to say that people didn’t notice the real me – I mean really???!!!)
I hissed and got really scared when they wanted to pick me up but there was nothing I could do, I was introduced to Gina ( I must add she was the most stunning, petite girl BUT boy she had an attitude!), Charlie and Smokey (very nice personalities!), they were so calm, friendly and relaxed, I immediately felt at home…
The next morning when Veronica returned to work she found me curled up to my sassy new “girl” friend “Gina” and I didn’t feel like hiding, hissing or anything, she entered the cattery and started speaking to me and slowly moved her hand closer and scratched me…I then realised what I missed and what the fuss was all about, I started purring like a brand new Porche and Veronica just like went bananas (she called everyone and made a BIG fuss because I let her cuddle me!)
Now I have became the real me, I love being cuddled and given attention so now I’m just waiting for you to adopt me!
